The community of Barangay San Miguel, Iloilo, is set to benefit from a health initiative spearheaded by student nurses from the Central Philippine University–College of St. Augustine (CSA). Recognizing the community’s urgent need for vaccination programs, medical supplies, and health education, these aspiring healthcare professionals are rallying to make a difference. Many residents in Barangay San Miguel face challenges in accessing essential vaccinations, leaving them vulnerable to preventable diseases such as measles, influenza, and hepatitis. The CSA student nurses are organizing a comprehensive vaccination drive to provide free immunizations, particularly for children, senior citizens, and other high-risk groups. In addition to the vaccination efforts, the initiative aims to equip the barangay with much-needed medical supplies. Basic items such as wound dressings, over-the-counter medicines, and health kits will be distributed to ensure that the barangay health station can better serve its residents. The student nurses are also calling for volunteers to support the program. Local helpers, healthcare professionals, and civic-minded individuals are encouraged to contribute their time and effort to the success of this endeavor. By working together, the team hopes to not only improve access to healthcare but also foster a sense of community awareness about the importance of preventive medicine. Barangay leaders and the CSA student nurses are collaborating closely to ensure the smooth implementation of this project. Those interested in volunteering or donating supplies can reach out to the barangay office or CSA’s health department. Together, this initiative aims to build a healthier, more resilient Barangay San Miguel.
